Speaking during an interview with Fox News while visiting the United States, Netanyahu expressed confidence in his ability to travel to nations that recognize the ICC warrant against him, which was issued in 2024. He emphasized that he is not deterred by the possibility of arrest and mentioned, 'Yeah, I think about it. You know, we have special forces around. I served for five years.' This statement underscores his readiness to address any potential threats to his freedom while abroad.

Despite the looming threat of arrest, Netanyahu has confirmed his intention to visit New York City, even in the face of criticism from Mayor Zohran Mamdani, who has called for federal action against him. Netanyahu did not hold back in his remarks about Mamdani, labeling him as a 'hate-spewing elected official' who is fostering division among New Yorkers, particularly against the Jewish community. Mamdani has publicly condemned Netanyahu as a 'war criminal' due to the ICC charges against him, which stem from allegations regarding Israel’s military operations in Gaza. While Mamdani has voiced the concerns of many regarding Israel's actions, he has also recognized that the city lacks the authority to enforce the ICC warrant, urging the federal government to intervene.
