Madhya Pradesh Establishes Fast-Track Courts for Exam Paper Leak Cases

In response to growing public concern regarding examination paper leaks, the Madhya Pradesh High Court has initiated the establishment of four specialized fast-track courts aimed at expediting the legal proceedings related to such incidents. These courts are tasked with completing trials and issuing verdicts within a strict timeframe of three months from the date the charge sheets are submitted. This decision is part of a broader national strategy announced by the central government, which aims to address the alarming rise in examination malpractices, including the recent allegations surrounding the NEET-UG exam paper leak. The move follows significant protests from students across the country, who have been vocal in demanding accountability and transparency in the examination process.

On Friday, Acting Chief Justice Vivek Rusia officially designated one district and additional sessions court in each of the cities of Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior, and Jabalpur as special fast-track courts. These courts will specifically handle cases under the Lok Pariksha (Anuchit Sadhano Ka Nivaran) Adhiniyam, 2024, along with other related offenses. This initiative aligns with the announcement made by Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav just a day prior, who emphasized the need for swift judicial action in response to the ongoing crisis surrounding paper leaks. The designated judges for these courts have been appointed, and their primary objective will be to uphold the integrity and credibility of public examinations by ensuring that cases are resolved promptly and justly.
