Delhi Police Files FIR for Violence Against Officers During Protest March

The Delhi Police have officially lodged a First Information Report (FIR) that outlines serious allegations, including attempted murder against police officers, following the 'Sansad Chalo' march that took place on July 20 in the capital city. This march, organized by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), attracted thousands of students protesting in response to a recent controversy involving the leak of examination papers for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET-UG) 2026. The gathering began at Jantar Mantar and quickly escalated into a confrontation with law enforcement.

According to sources familiar with the situation, the FIR includes charges of attempted murder under Section 109(1) of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS), particularly concerning the violent events that transpired near the Rail Bhawan and Parliament. The complaint that initiated the FIR was filed by an inspector stationed at the Kartavya Path police station, detailing the violent incidents that unfolded on Rafi Marg. The inspector reported being on duty at C-Hexagon, Zone-11 (Pink Booth), starting at 5 AM on the day of the march. As the situation developed, police received information via wireless communication and dispatched a team to the barricades near the Rail Bhawan roundabout, where a large crowd had gathered.
