Delhi Faces Severe Waterlogging and Traffic Chaos Due to Heavy Rains

On Tuesday, the national capital of India, Delhi, experienced a significant downpour that resulted in extensive waterlogging and traffic disruptions throughout various regions. The heavy rains led to the inundation of numerous roads and underpasses, particularly during the busy morning and evening rush hours. Key areas such as the Pandav Nagar Underpass and the R/A Murga Mandi vicinity were notably affected, prompting local authorities to initiate dewatering efforts to alleviate the situation. The impact of the rainfall was particularly visible in Connaught Place, where the G Block colonnade was submerged, causing rainwater to seep into multiple shops, disrupting business operations. Additionally, water accumulation was reported near Lodhi Estate close to Khan Market, further inconveniencing both commuters and motorists navigating the area.

The ITO region, recognized as one of the busiest traffic hubs in Delhi, also suffered from severe waterlogging as the relentless rain persisted throughout the day. In response to the challenging conditions, the Delhi Traffic Police deployed personnel to various affected locations to manage traffic flow and assist stranded commuters.
