In a deeply disturbing incident from Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, the tragic death of a three-year-old boy has led to the arrest of his mother, who is accused of strangling him. Initially thought to be the result of an illness, the case took a shocking turn nearly a month after the child's funeral when the mother allegedly confessed to her husband about the circumstances surrounding their son's death. The incident occurred on June 28 in Chauli village, where the boy, identified as Madhav, was reportedly playing and crying while his mother, Ruchi Gupta, was engaged in a phone call with a man she is said to be romantically involved with. In a fit of anger, she allegedly attempted to silence him, leading to a tragic outcome.
The police were alerted to the situation on July 27 after Govind Gupta, the boy's uncle, reported that Ruchi had strangled her son. Investigators learned that Ruchi had informed her husband, Krishna Murari Gupta, that their son was unresponsive and appeared to be asleep. Earlier, she had claimed that Madhav had fallen ill after crying excessively. The family, believing that his death was due to a medical issue, rushed him to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. On the day of his death, Madhav had received polio drops, which led the family to suspect that complications from the vaccination might have been the cause of his sudden demise, prompting them to conduct his last rites without any suspicion of foul play.
