New Noida Development: Land Acquisition and Infrastructure Plans Unveiled

The Noida Authority is preparing to initiate the land acquisition process for the New Noida project, formally known as the Dadri-Noida-Ghaziabad Investment Region (DNGIR), within the next week to ten days. An official announcement confirmed that a team of four revenue officers, soon to be expanded to five, will conduct surveys across the initial set of 37 villages. This marks the commencement of a comprehensive urban development initiative that is expected to unfold over the next two decades. The project aims to transform the region into a thriving urban hub, with a focus on infrastructure and housing to accommodate a growing population.

Covering an area of 209.11 square kilometers, New Noida encompasses 84 villages, with 63 located in Bulandshahr and 21 in Gautam Budh Nagar. The official notification for this expansive project was issued on October 18, 2024. The first phase of development will focus on 37 villages, including notable areas such as Jokhabad, Sanwali, and Muradabad. The Noida Authority has set a compensation rate of Rs 4,300 per square meter for land acquisition, aligning this rate with those established for the Noida International Airport project. This adjustment comes after the Supreme Court's intervention in compensation disputes, ensuring that farmers receive fair compensation comparable to rates set by the Yamuna Authority.
