Sonam Wangchuk Travels Vande Bharat, Advocates for Student Rights

Sonam Wangchuk, a prominent scientist and activist, recently embarked on a journey from Delhi to Jammu and Kashmir aboard the Vande Bharat Express, following a hunger strike that required medical attention. This trip not only allowed him to express his admiration for the Indian Railways but also served as a platform for him to reiterate his call for the government to uphold its promises made to student demonstrators. Wangchuk shared his experiences through a video posted on X, highlighting the beauty of the journey and the significance of the newly inaugurated railway route to Jammu and Kashmir. He specifically mentioned his desire to witness the Chenab Bridge, which added to the overall charm of his travel experience. "I wanted to see the Chenab Bridge as well and it was a very beautiful experience. I am very proud of Indian Railways," he stated in the video, reflecting his deep appreciation for the advancements in railway infrastructure.

After a restful night in Kashmir, Wangchuk continued his journey towards Ladakh, where he hopes to further advocate for educational reforms. While he praised the railway system, he also took the opportunity to directly address the central government, urging it to honor its commitment to refrain from legal actions against students involved in nationwide protests. He expressed his satisfaction with the introduction of a Bill aimed at improving examination processes in Parliament, emphasizing the need for comprehensive reforms across the entire education system. "I hope this improvement is introduced not just in exams but also in the entire education system," Wangchuk remarked, showcasing his commitment to enhancing educational standards in India.
