BJP Responds to Rahul Gandhi's Controversial Remarks in Lok Sabha

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has strongly criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for his recent comments made during a Lok Sabha debate regarding an anti-paper leak bill. At a press conference, BJP national spokesperson Sambit Patra condemned Gandhi's use of the term 'idiot,' asserting that such language is disrespectful to students and undermines their concerns. Patra emphasized that the BJP is committed to addressing the issue of examination paper leaks, which he claims was neglected by previous governments before 2014. He pointed out that the current administration has taken significant steps to strengthen laws against these leaks, demonstrating a clear commitment to protecting the integrity of the education system.

During the press conference, Patra highlighted that Gandhi's remarks were not only inappropriate but also violated parliamentary decorum. He noted that Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju had repeatedly reminded Gandhi that the term 'idiot' is considered unparliamentary and should not be used in the House. Despite these warnings, Gandhi persisted in using the term, prompting Patra to accuse him of misleading Parliament and behaving in a manner unbefitting a member of the legislative body. The BJP spokesperson also dismissed Gandhi's claims regarding Union Home Minister Amit Shah's alleged authorization of police actions against student protesters, asserting that no such orders were given and that the accusations were baseless.
