Karnataka Extends Mop-Up Round Admission Deadline for Medical Courses

The karnataka examinations authority (kea) has announced an extension for the admission deadline concerning vacant seats in medical, dental, and ayush programs
The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has announced an extension for the admission deadline concerning vacant seats in Medical, Dental, and AYUSH programs during the Mop-Up round. According to the revised schedule, students now have until August 2, 2026, to submit their applications for these courses. This adjustment comes as a part of the official notification released by KEA, which indicates that the previous deadline, initially set following a notification dated June 5, 2026, has been pushed back to accommodate more candidates. The authority has emphasized the importance of adhering to this new timeline, urging both students and educational institutions to complete the admission process promptly within the updated framework.
In its official communication, KEA has reiterated that institutions must comply with the established guidelines while admitting qualified candidates. The Mop-Up round serves as a critical opportunity for those who have not yet secured a seat in the earlier counseling phases. It allows registered and eligible candidates to fill any remaining vacancies in Medical, Dental, and AYUSH courses, thereby ensuring that all available positions are filled. The authority has specified that the last date for admissions, along with the submission and uploading of admission details to KEA, will occur between 4 PM and 5:30 PM on the designated date. This structured approach aims to streamline the admission process and maximize the utilization of available seats.
