Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma revealed that the relief initiative was finalized during a special session of the State Level Bankers’ Committee (SLBC). This meeting saw participation from key financial institutions, including representatives from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), NABARD, the State Bank of India (SBI), and various other commercial banks. The moratorium is specifically targeted at borrowers residing in the districts of Sivasagar, Charaideo, Jorhat, and Golaghat, which have been identified as some of the hardest-hit areas by the flooding.
