Uddhav Thackeray, the leader of Shiv Sena (UBT), has made a striking comparison between the current Generation Z and the revered historical figure Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. He articulated that throughout history, young individuals have often faced ridicule before their significant contributions are acknowledged. In a recent statement, Thackeray pointed out that today’s youth, often mocked and referred to disparagingly as 'cockroaches,' share a similar fate to that of Shivaji Maharaj, who was once derisively called a 'chuha' or rat by the Mughal Empire. This comparison serves to highlight the resilience and potential of young people, suggesting that their age should not diminish their voices or aspirations.
Thackeray emphasized that Shivaji Maharaj was just 17 years old when he successfully captured Torna Fort, marking a pivotal moment in the establishment of the Maratha kingdom. He drew attention to the fact that both Shivaji Maharaj and Sant Dnyaneshwar, who authored the Dnyaneshwari at a young age, encountered significant opposition during their respective eras. By referencing these historical figures, Thackeray aimed to inspire the younger generation, urging society not to overlook their capabilities simply due to their youth. He believes that the ambitions and voices of young people should be embraced and encouraged, rather than dismissed as inconsequential.
