Srikkanth Critiques Gambhir for Dropping Sooryavanshi After Early Struggles

Krishnamachari Srikkanth, a former captain of the Indian cricket team, has openly criticized head coach Gautam Gambhir for his decision to exclude young talent Vaibhav Sooryavanshi from the squad after just three disappointing performances in England. Srikkanth expressed his views during a recent YouTube session, where he labeled Gambhir’s choice as ‘foolish’, particularly in light of Sooryavanshi’s remarkable achievement of scoring a record-breaking half-century off just 18 balls against Zimbabwe. The young cricketer, who is only 15 years old, had a challenging start to his T20I career, managing scores of 14, 13, and 15 in his initial outings during a series where India faced a 4-0 defeat. Despite these setbacks, Sooryavanshi made a significant comeback by being included in the lineup for the first match against Zimbabwe, where he showcased his extraordinary talent by becoming the youngest player to score a half-century in men’s T20I cricket, helping India snap a streak of seven consecutive losses.
