Budigina clocked a time of 57.57 seconds, just shy of the medal positions, which left him heartbroken after a promising performance. The final saw South African swimmer Nathan Hendricks take the gold medal with an impressive time of 54.54 seconds, while Scotland’s Stephen Clegg earned the silver with a time of 55.16 seconds. England’s Matthew Redfern rounded out the medalists by claiming the bronze with a time of 56.86 seconds. The S13 classification, which Budigina and Ali competed in, is specifically designed for athletes with visual impairments, highlighting the incredible talent and determination present in this category. Earlier in the day, both Budigina and Ali advanced to the finals after all eight swimmers from the heats qualified, showcasing their resilience and skill. Budigina had a strong showing in the heats, finishing third with a time of 57.10 seconds, while Ali faced a tougher challenge, ending up at the bottom of the heat standings with a time of 1:05.32.
