Amaal Mallik has made serious allegations against fellow music composer Tanishk Bagchi, accusing him of various unethical practices, including music plagiarism and mistreatment of female artists. The controversy erupted after Tanishk claimed that Yash Raj Films had not fulfilled his royalty payment for the song 'Saiyaara.' Although Amaal initially refrained from naming Tanishk directly, his references to 'Mr. Remix & Destroyer of Originals' made it clear who he was targeting. He later shared a photo of Tanishk, labeling him as the 'Zazooo of the music industry,' further intensifying the feud.
In a series of posts on social media, Amaal accused Tanishk of orchestrating a publicity campaign that involved planting articles and using outdated photographs of himself. He expressed his frustration, stating, 'Dear Mr. Remix & Destroyer of Originals… 10 years too late but I will show the world your aukaad (stature).' Amaal urged Tanishk to cease using his old images for promotional articles, emphasizing that he no longer wished to be associated with him. He also claimed that Tanishk presents a different persona in private, pretending to be friendly while harboring underlying animosity. Amaal questioned Tanishk's integrity, suggesting that he has profited from paid publicity but is misusing those resources.
The allegations took a more serious turn when Amaal claimed that Tanishk had improperly secured his involvement in the film 'Saiyaara' by taking a song originally associated with other artists, Faheem Abdullah and Arsalan Nizami. He suggested that Tanishk manipulated director Mohit Suri into including him in the project, stating, 'If I speak up about how you bagged the film #Saiyaara, and stole the song right under Faheem Abdullah & Arsalan Nizami’s nose to make Mohit Suri take you in the film, then you will know.' Amaal also hinted at troubling behavior by Tanishk towards female singers, warning that the situation could escalate beyond a mere MeToo allegation. He did not provide specific details or names, leaving the claims unverified. Additionally, Amaal defended Yash Raj Films, asserting that they are a reputable company that adheres to legal protocols, questioning why Tanishk would publicly criticize them after they helped popularize 'Saiyaara.' The feud has escalated, with Amaal also alleging that Tanishk has disparaged Bhushan Kumar and T-Series in private, despite continuing to collaborate with them. As the drama unfolds, Amaal himself faces scrutiny over his own projects, including a recreated version of 'Yeh Awarapan' for the upcoming film 'Awarapan 2,' amid claims of a targeted publicity campaign against him and his work.
