On July 25, 2026, gold prices exhibited a mixed performance, with futures trading on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) showing a slight increase while retail bullion rates reflected a decline from previous sessions. The 24-carat gold futures contract on the MCX saw a rise of 0.17 percent, climbing by Rs 245 to reach Rs 1,43,066 per 10 grams during the morning trading hours. This follows a previous settlement at Rs 1,42,821 per 10 grams. In the international market, gold prices also experienced an upward trend, reaching $4,055.70 per ounce. According to data from the bullion market, the price for 24-carat gold was quoted at Rs 1,43,750 per 10 grams. The Indian Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA) reported that 24-carat gold, with a purity of 999, closed at Rs 1,42,757 per 10 grams on Friday. As the bullion markets are closed on weekends, these rates will remain effective until trading resumes. GoodReturns reported that the retail price of 24-carat gold was set at Rs 1,47,420 per 10 grams, while in the Delhi market, the price, including all applicable taxes, was Rs 1,47,200 per 10 grams.
In the Delhi bullion market, gold prices experienced a decline on Friday as traders opted to book profits following a recent surge. The price for 99.9 percent pure gold dropped by Rs 2,000, settling at Rs 1,47,200 per 10 grams, marking a consecutive decline from Rs 1,49,200 per 10 grams the day before. Despite this correction in domestic prices, spot gold in international markets edged higher to $4,063.70 per ounce. The futures contracts also faced a downturn in the previous session, with the August contract on the MCX falling by Rs 849, or 0.59 percent, to close at Rs 1,41,972 per 10 grams as speculators adjusted their positions in response to softer demand. Globally, gold futures in New York experienced a decrease of 0.47 percent, settling at $4,030.29 per ounce.
