Chhattisgarh Woman Identifies Attacker Before Fatal Stabbing, Leads to Arrest

In a harrowing incident from Chhattisgarh, a 19-year-old woman tragically lost her life after being brutally stabbed multiple times in the neck by her boyfriend. Before succumbing to her injuries, she managed to provide crucial information to the police by typing her assailant's name on a mobile phone. This act of bravery enabled law enforcement to apprehend the suspect within hours of the attack. The incident unfolded around 8 PM on Sunday, July 26, at Nehru Park, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Surajpur police station. The victim, identified as Radhika Rajwade, was allegedly attacked by her boyfriend, Ritesh Rajwade, following a heated argument that stemmed from his suspicions regarding her interactions with another man. In a fit of rage, Ritesh reportedly drew a knife and viciously stabbed Radhika in the neck before fleeing the scene on a motorcycle. Bystanders who witnessed the attack rushed the critically injured woman to a nearby district hospital. Due to the severity of her wounds, she was later referred to Ambikapur Medical College Hospital but tragically succumbed to her injuries en route.

Reports indicate that despite suffering a deep wound to her neck, Radhika managed to stagger out of the park in a desperate attempt to seek help before collapsing in a pool of blood. According to The Times of India, she remained conscious upon arrival at the hospital but was unable to speak due to the critical nature of her injuries. Surajpur Superintendent of Police, Yogesh Patel, stated that when officers attempted to question her, Radhika gestured for a mobile phone. Understanding her need to communicate, the police handed her a phone, and she was able to type the name of her attacker before being transferred to a higher medical facility. CCTV footage from the park revealed that the couple had spent nearly an hour together before their argument escalated into violence. Investigators later discovered that after the attack, Ritesh believed Radhika was dead, removed the knife from her neck, and fled the scene.
