Tragic Scooter Accident in Ahmedabad Claims Lives of Two Siblings

In a heartbreaking incident captured on CCTV, a tragic road accident in Ahmedabad has resulted in the deaths of two young siblings. The footage reveals a speeding scooter, carrying a 17-year-old brother and his 14-year-old sister, crashing violently into a streetlight pole along the Riverfront Road. The impact of the collision was so severe that it propelled both riders onto the road, while the scooter skidded nearly 50 feet from the point of impact. This devastating accident occurred alarmingly close to the Riverfront West Police Station, highlighting the dangers of reckless driving in urban areas.

The siblings, identified as Kavya Nishidhbhai Mehta and his younger sister Jaina Nishidh Mehta, were residents of the Shantivan area in Paldi. On July 27, they had set out on their scooter to visit their mother’s workplace in Navrangpura. Tragically, while returning home via the Riverfront Road, the scooter collided with the pole at high speed. The CCTV footage shows the vehicle traveling at an alarming pace just moments before the crash, underscoring the risks associated with such reckless behavior. Following the accident, Kavya suffered critical head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, while Jaina, who was riding as a passenger, was rushed to SVP Hospital in a critical state but succumbed to her injuries shortly thereafter.
