The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell has officially published the first round seat matrix for the MHT CET CAP 2026 on its website, cetcell.mahacet.org. This release is crucial for students aiming to enroll in engineering programs across Maharashtra. This year, over 200,000 candidates have registered for the CAP engineering admissions process. In a significant development, the total number of available seats has increased to 216,552, up from 202,886 in the previous academic year, reflecting the state's commitment to accommodating more aspiring engineers. Students interested in pursuing a BTech degree must note that today marks the final opportunity to apply through the official platform.
The provisional allotment results for the MHT CET CAP 2026 BTech program are scheduled to be announced on August 2, 2026. Following the announcement, candidates will have a window from August 3 to August 5 to accept their assigned engineering seats and report to their respective institutions to finalize their admissions. This year, students can choose from 111 different programs offered by 380 engineering colleges throughout the state. Notably, the Computer Engineering courses have the highest number of available seats, with a total of 30,993 spots allocated for this specific discipline. The distribution of seats for the first round of CAP counseling is also noteworthy; out of the total, 192,030 seats are available for students across all categories, while 15,734 seats are reserved for the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and 8,788 seats are designated for the Tuition Fees Waiver Scheme (TFWS).
