The Mizoram Directorate of Higher and Technical Education has unveiled the second provisional merit list for medical course admissions, which includes MBBS, under the state quota. This list features a total of 458 candidates, and notably, S. Lalsawmdawnguzuala Lalsanjel Hazel has once again claimed the top position. This achievement marks a significant milestone for Hazel, who scored 595 out of a possible 720 marks in the NEET UG 2026 examination. As a member of the Scheduled Tribe (ST) category, he has not only emerged as the state topper but also holds an impressive All India Rank (AIR) of 11875, achieving a remarkable percentile of 99.40602. Within the ST category, his rank is even more commendable, placing him at 83. His consistent performance has made him a standout candidate in the competitive landscape of medical admissions in Mizoram.
Following Hazel in the merit list are Lalmuami Cello Robert Lalthlamuana and Deborah Lalthlamuani DL Hmanguana, who secured the second and third positions, respectively. Lalthlamuana achieved a score of 541 marks, while Hmanguana followed closely with 537 marks. These three students have distinguished themselves as the top performers in the state, positioning themselves as strong contenders for medical seats available under the state quota. The second provisional merit list reflects a growth in the number of candidates, with 73 additional names added compared to the first provisional list, which included 385 candidates. The lowest score recorded in this latest list stands at 181, indicating a competitive environment for aspiring medical students in the region.
