BPSC Addresses Misinformation on 70th CCE Cut-Off and Tie-Breaker Rules

The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has officially refuted claims circulating on social media regarding the cut-off for the Integrated 70th Combined Competitive Examination (CCE). In a recent statement, the Commission highlighted that those spreading what they termed 'fake news' have not lodged any formal complaints with BPSC concerning the examination results or the cut-off marks. The BPSC emphasized that misinformation is being propagated by certain individuals who are making sensational and unfounded assertions, suggesting that candidates were unjustly excluded from selection despite achieving scores that met the cut-off criteria. Importantly, the Commission noted that the candidates in question have not approached BPSC with any grievances related to this matter, which further undermines the validity of these claims.

In its communication, BPSC elaborated on the procedures followed in determining the final results of the 70th CCE. The Commission made it clear that the tie-breaker rules were explicitly outlined during the announcement of the results. According to these rules, if candidates achieve identical scores, the order of preference is first determined by their performance in the written examination, followed by their scores in the essay component. Should there still be a tie, the candidates' dates of birth are then taken into account. BPSC reassured candidates that the tie-breaker provisions are clearly defined, aiming to eliminate any potential confusion or misunderstandings regarding the results. The Commission urged candidates to refer to the second clause of the result notification for a detailed explanation of these provisions, ensuring transparency in the selection process.
