The Delhi Police have issued a traffic advisory that enforces restrictions in certain parts of central Delhi, particularly advising the public to refrain from non-essential travel to the New Delhi district and significant locations surrounding Jantar Mantar. This includes areas such as Parliament, Central Vista, and Connaught Place, all of which are currently under prohibitory orders as stipulated by Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023. The advisory aims to ensure public safety and maintain order in light of anticipated large gatherings and potential law and order issues in the vicinity.
In addition to the travel advisory, the Delhi Police have requested that app-based service providers, including popular platforms like Uber, BlinkIt, and Zomato, take steps to regulate their operations in these specified areas. This request is part of a broader effort to manage the flow of traffic and ensure the safety of both commuters and service providers. Authorities are urging residents to plan their travel in advance and to adhere strictly to the directions provided by law enforcement personnel on the ground. The police have emphasized that restrictions are in place to uphold public order and that individuals should avoid entering the designated zones unless absolutely necessary, opting for alternative routes whenever possible.
