Tapan Mohanty and Yogeshwar Singh Reach Men's All-Around Final at Commonwealth Games

In a thrilling display of skill and determination, Indian gymnasts Tapan Mohanty and Yogeshwar Singh have successfully qualified for the men's all-around final at the Commonwealth Games, which took place on Friday. Both athletes showcased their talents during the qualification round of artistic gymnastics, where Mohanty finished in 17th place with a score of 71.700 points, while Singh closely followed in 18th with 71.400 points. Their commendable performances have earned them spots in the final, although their participation is still contingent upon the two-per-country qualification rule that governs the event. In addition to their individual successes, the Indian team faced challenges in the apparatus events. Swathish Kaitheri Puthalath narrowly missed out on qualifying for the rings final, finishing as the second reserve with a score of 12.450. Similarly, Yogeshwar Singh also found himself in a precarious position, securing the second reserve spot in the vault event with a score of 12.600. This means that both gymnasts remain in contention for a chance to compete should any of the qualified gymnasts withdraw, keeping their hopes alive for additional opportunities to showcase their skills. The team competition saw India finishing in seventh place overall with a cumulative score of 208.550, a position that reflects the fierce competition they faced from other nations.
