NEET Aspirant Allegedly Gangraped During Outing in Chitrakoot

In a disturbing incident in Chitrakoot district, a 20-year-old woman, who is reportedly preparing for the NEET examination, was allegedly gangraped while she was out with a friend. The police have initiated an investigation and are actively searching for the suspects involved in this heinous crime. According to the authorities, the incident was reported after a call was made to the UP112 helpline, prompting an immediate response from law enforcement. The victim recounted that she and her friend were near the Devangana Airport area when they noticed that three men were following them. The situation escalated when the assailants confronted the pair, threatening them and attempting to extort money. Unfortunately, the victims were unable to provide any cash, and due to a lack of mobile network coverage in the vicinity, they could not make an online payment, which led to the attackers overpowering the young man and subsequently assaulting the woman.

The victim, who aspires to clear the NEET exam, had gone out for a casual outing with her friend when this tragic event unfolded. Following her complaint, the police registered a First Information Report (FIR) under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including those pertaining to gangrape and physical assault. In response to the gravity of the situation, multiple police teams have been deployed, including members from the Special Operations Group (SOG), to track down and apprehend the perpetrators. The Additional Director General (ADG) of the Prayagraj Zone, Jyoti Narayan, visited the site of the crime on Wednesday to oversee the investigation and has instructed officials to prioritize the swift arrest of the suspects. Chitrakoot's Superintendent of Police, Arun Kumar Singh, confirmed that the investigation is ongoing, with several teams actively pursuing leads to locate the accused individuals.
