Ranbir Kapoor's Journey to Portray Lord Rama in Ramayana

Ranbir Kapoor has shared insights into his extensive preparation for the role of Lord Rama in Nitesh Tiwari's upcoming film, Ramayana. The actor emphasized that embodying this iconic character required more than just a physical transformation; it necessitated a deep understanding of the philosophy and values associated with Lord Rama. During an interview at San Diego Comic-Con, Kapoor explained that his preparation involved a significant amount of reading, meditation, and spiritual discipline, which he considered crucial in portraying such a revered figure accurately.

Kapoor expressed that while physical training, including action and dance, is often viewed as the primary focus of preparation, he found this aspect to be somewhat superficial. He stated, "I always feel that kind of preparation, making a body or action and dance, is kind of easy because that is a bit superficial. But to really understand the philosophy of Lord Rama deeply at this age and this point in my life was really important to embody this character." He emphasized the importance of making the character relatable to a wide audience, saying that understanding Lord Rama's teachings was more significant than merely achieving a physical transformation. This approach reflects Kapoor's commitment to authenticity in his portrayal.
