BJP Protests Over Alleged Exam Paper Leaks in Punjab, Calls for Investigation

The ongoing controversy surrounding alleged exam paper leaks in Punjab has escalated to the national level, prompting the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to organize a protest outside the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) headquarters in Delhi. The BJP is demanding a comprehensive investigation into the matter, urging accountability from the Punjab government. This protest is particularly significant as it follows months of criticism directed at the AAP by the BJP regarding similar issues, including the NEET paper leak. The BJP's actions highlight the party's commitment to addressing what they perceive as a serious threat to the integrity of the educational system in Punjab.

During the protest, a substantial police presence was observed outside the AAP office, ensuring order amid the demonstration. BJP leaders, including Delhi BJP president Harsh Malhotra, were at the forefront of the protest, accompanied by various party MPs and senior officials. They accused the Punjab government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, of compromising the futures of countless students by allowing examination papers to be leaked. The protesters vocally expressed their discontent with the ruling AAP government, chanting slogans that called for accountability and change in leadership.

The allegations made by the BJP have sparked significant political discourse, even reaching the halls of Parliament. On Tuesday, BJP MPs staged their own protest within the Parliament complex, demanding the resignation of Punjab's Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains in light of the alleged exam leaks. Additionally, Shiromani Akali Dal MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal has joined the chorus of voices calling for a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry into what she claims are 11 examination scams that occurred during the AAP's governance in Punjab. The Akali Dal has specifically pointed to six compromised examinations, including the Punjab Teacher Eligibility Test and the Class 12 English paper, which they argue have adversely affected a large number of candidates. Meanwhile, the Congress party has also weighed in, alleging that at least four paper leaks transpired under the AAP administration in Punjab. In response to these serious accusations, the Bhagwant Mann government has categorically denied any wrongdoing, asserting that all claims are unfounded.
