Kartik Aaryan Contributes Rs 1 Crore to Assam Flood Relief Efforts

In response to the devastating floods that have impacted Assam, Bollywood star Kartik Aaryan has made a significant donation of Rs 1 crore to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. This generous gesture was officially acknowledged by the office of Assam's Chief Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma, who expressed heartfelt gratitude towards the actor for his timely support. The Chief Minister's office took to social media to share the news, stating, "Gratitude to actor @TheAaryanKartik for his generous contribution of ₹1 Crore to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. HCM Dr. @himantabiswa appreciated his commendable gesture and timely support toward state relief measures." This act of kindness from Aaryan comes at a crucial time as the state grapples with the aftermath of severe flooding that has affected thousands of residents.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma personally thanked Aaryan via his social media account, highlighting the importance of such contributions during times of crisis. Aaryan's donation is part of a broader trend among Bollywood celebrities stepping up to assist those in need during natural disasters. Notably, fellow actor Salman Khan has also been active in relief efforts, collaborating with his charitable organization, Being Human, and the Salman Khan Fan Club (SKFC) Assam to provide aid to the flood-affected regions.

The relief operations initiated by Salman Khan's team are being executed in phases, with the first phase concentrating on delivering essential supplies. In the hardest-hit areas, such as Sivasagar, ready-to-eat food packets are being distributed to families impacted by the floods. These packets include vital food items like biscuits, jaggery, poha, puffed rice, bread, cheese, and jam. As the relief efforts progress, teams are also set to provide clean drinking water, water purification tablets, sanitary products, and mosquito coils to those in need. The initiative is particularly crucial as the region has faced significant challenges due to flooding, with official reports indicating that as of July 28, the death toll had reached 68, and over 445,000 individuals were affected across six districts. Prime Minister Modi has assured full support from the central government in addressing the crisis and has commended the Assam government for its management of the situation. A central team is currently in Assam to assess the damage, and a senior Union minister is expected to be dispatched to enhance coordination and relief efforts further.
