Maruti Suzuki Unveils 2026 Brezza with Turbo Engine and New Features

Maruti Suzuki has officially introduced the 2026 version of its popular compact SUV, the Brezza, with a starting price of Rs 7.40 lakh (ex-showroom). This launch marks a significant update for the Brezza, which has not seen a major overhaul in four years. One of the most notable enhancements is the addition of a turbo-petrol engine option, a first for this model that previously relied solely on naturally aspirated powertrains. The new 1.0-litre Boosterjet turbo engine delivers an impressive output of 110 horsepower and 170 Nm of torque, providing a more robust driving experience. Meanwhile, the existing 1.5-litre petrol variant continues to be available, now equipped with an underbody-mounted CNG kit sourced from the Victoris, which effectively increases boot space compared to earlier models. This upgrade is particularly significant as the Brezza competes with rivals such as the Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV 3OO, Kia Sonet, and Syros, offering a more competitive engine option than before.

The 2026 Brezza comes with a standard 6-speed manual transmission across all variants, while the 6-speed automatic transmission is exclusively available for the 1.5-litre petrol model, leaving the turbo variant without this option. To visually differentiate the turbo-petrol models, Maruti Suzuki has added distinctive badging, red trim accents, and 'Turbo Boosterjet' stickers. These enhancements not only improve the aesthetics of the vehicle but also emphasize its sporty character. Inside the cabin, the design maintains a black-and-brown color scheme, but with some notable changes. The previous silver trim has been replaced with a sleek gloss black finish, and the upholstery on the leatherette seats has been updated for a more modern look. Additionally, the HVAC controls have been borrowed from the Victoris, enhancing the overall functionality and appeal of the interior.
