Anthropic has announced an exciting expansion of Claude's Voice Mode, introducing support for additional AI models and connected applications. Users can now engage in voice conversations using the newly added Opus and Sonnet models, moving beyond the previously exclusive reliance on the lighter Haiku model. This enhancement aims to provide users with a more versatile and engaging conversational experience, allowing for a wider range of interactions and capabilities.
In addition to the new model options, Claude's Voice Mode now enables users to access various connected tools linked to their accounts. This means that spoken commands can be utilized to retrieve information or execute permitted actions across a variety of services, including popular platforms such as calendars, Canva, Notion, and Slack. This integration allows for a seamless experience, where users can interact with their digital environments through voice commands, enhancing productivity and making tasks more efficient. The rollout of these new features is currently in public beta, available across Claude's mobile, desktop, and web applications. Anthropic has confirmed that Voice Mode will remain accessible across all subscription tiers, including the free plan, though specific model access and usage limitations may vary depending on the user's plan.
