Vivo S2 5G Launch Date and Specs Leaked Ahead of India Release

Vivo appears to be preparing for the launch of its S2 smartphone in India, with reports suggesting that the unveiling could take place on August 6. A promotional image has emerged online, hinting at the imminent announcement of the device. Although Vivo has yet to officially confirm the details regarding the phone's specifications, pricing, or its launch timeline in India, the buzz surrounding the S2 is growing. According to a post by well-known tipster Abhishek Yadav on social media platform X, the first sales of the Vivo S2 are expected to commence on August 11, just a few days after the launch event. The promotional poster features the slogan “Vivo S2: Flows Into Your Hands Soon,” reinforcing the anticipation among potential buyers. This news follows earlier speculation that the S2 could signify the return of Vivo's S series to the Indian market, a range that has been dormant since the introduction of the original Vivo S1 in 2019.

The Vivo S2 is rumored to be available in two configurations: 8GB of RAM paired with either 128GB or 256GB of internal storage. Color options are expected to include Sapphire Blue, Regal Bronze, and Silk White. Previous retail listings have indicated potential pricing for the Vivo S2, with demo units being listed at Rs 38,000 and Rs 42,000. A separate listing also suggested a price of Rs 43,000 for the 8GB plus 128GB variant. However, these figures are derived from internal retail systems and may not accurately reflect the final retail price at the time of launch. The device is anticipated to feature a 6.59-inch 1.5K OLED display with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, an in-display fingerprint sensor for added security, and it may be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset.
