In a heartbreaking incident, a 20-year-old student, Yashvendra, who was studying in the United States, tragically lost his life after the vehicle he was in fell into a drain in southwest Delhi. The accident occurred on a Friday morning in the Nangal Dewat area, as reported by local authorities. Yashvendra, the son of an Indian Army officer, was traveling with a female friend, who was the owner of the car and sustained injuries during the mishap. Emergency services were alerted to the scene after a team from the Vasant Kunj South Police Station discovered the overturned vehicle submerged in the drain. Initial investigations suggest that the pair were en route to the friend’s home when the unfortunate event took place.
According to police reports, the accident happened as Yashvendra was navigating a sharp turn near the Nangal Dewat traffic signal. The road conditions were reportedly slippery at the time, which may have contributed to the loss of control that led the car to veer off the road and plunge into the drain. Despite immediate medical attention, Yashvendra succumbed to his injuries shortly after being transported to a hospital. Both he and his friend were studying at the same educational institution in the United States, where they had developed a close friendship. The news of his passing has sent shockwaves through the community, as friends and family mourn the loss of a young life full of potential.
